From Me 🎒
I wanted to change it up and put this section at the top for this week. It’s a big day for the newsletter. This is the 100th edition of Moonlights. That is 1-0-0 weeks in a row! I’ve really enjoyed creating this each week and greatly appreciate all the comments and emails along the way. Cheers to the next 100 (maybe). Let’s dive in 👇
Watch 🎄
Apple’s advertising has this knack for really connecting with its customers, and a big part of that comes from how they make everything feel so relatable. They're not just showing off their devices, they're showing you at your best, reminding you of all the amazing things you can do with their tech in your hands. Each year, they put out holiday films that are less about convincing you to open your wallet and more about opening your mind (still throwing in some iPhones and new iOS features, but hey, it’s good!).
Look 🥫
United Sodas of America’s brand work is so low-key and simple that it’s loud. I love how much focus went into the copy and the general experience of browsing the site. Simple is hard. But doing simple things right and still keeping them unique is even harder. If you go to the site and sit there for 5-10 seconds, you’ll see their throwback screensaver as well. Solid design, clever execution.
Read 📕
This was my favorite read of the week, yep, by Sherry Ning again.
Listen 🎧
A fun low-fi playlist to listen to if you want some visuals of a Tokyo night drive in the background.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
