Moonlights #24
Watch 🏀
Steph Curry won his first Finals MVP last night after the Warriors beat the Celtics to win the NBA championship. It’s hard to compare him to anyone, but outside of his brilliance on the court, he’s also the most fun player in the league. What he does is hard to comprehend. He’s changed the game forever, and now he’s got another ring to add to his legacy.

I recently re-read The Disease of More by Mark Manson, and I wanted to share a few of my favorite snippets (reading the full article is worth it).
“There’s a famous concept in sports known as the “Disease of More.” It was originally coined by Pat Riley, a hall of fame coach who has led six teams to NBA championships (and won one as a player himself).
Riley said that the Disease of More explains why teams who win championships are often ultimately dethroned, not by other, better teams, but by forces from within the organization itself.”
Nobody is fully happy all the time. But similarly, nobody is fully unhappy all the time either. It seems that humans, regardless of our external circumstances, live in a constant state of mild-but-not-fully-satisfying happiness. Put another way, things are pretty much always fine. But they could also always be better.
“Be careful adopting new dreams and goals that could harm the success and happiness you’ve already built for yourself today.”
“Life is an economy. Where everything must be traded for something else and the value of all things rise and fall with the amount of attention and effort you put into them. And in that economy, we each must eventually choose what you’re willing to trade based on what you value. And if you’re not careful with your values, if you are willing to trade things away for the sake of another hit of dopamine, another temporary trip to your own personal psychological 10, then chances are you’re going to fuck things up.”

A few weeks ago, I mentioned I had another product that I wanted to write about, but I was waiting to see how much I used it. Well, Notion decided to acquire the team, but luckily Cron will continue to work (for now). It’s a calendar app and one of the best mac app experiences out there. Beautiful design and a superhuman-esque experience. I hope they keep it going 💪

Chris Luno needs no introduction to Moonlights…he’s back with something new, this time he’s cruising around Copenhagen on a boat.
From Me 🎒
Sometimes it feels like life is moving so fast it’s hard to appreciate anything, especially with the 24/7 attack of fear and negativity spewed across the internet and into our devices. Life is a lot slower here, less connected, and I feel more present and grateful when I have the space to think. I’m looking forward to making this home for a while. Happy Friday!
