Moonlights #44
Read 🍎
When Jony Ive left Apple, his name stopped appearing in the headlines as frequently. There were a few things about his new design firm, LoveFrom, but that was about it. When I ran across the headline “Jony Ive on Life After Apple” you already know I had to dive in. If you’re an apple fan, it’s a great read about the legend himself, Mr. Ive.

I've been following Rik Oostenbroek's work for a while. He's worked with some of the biggest brands in the world and just released his own NFT collection. He has a unique way of using abstract shapes and colors to create these magical forms that I can’t stop looking at. In his younger years, he went through some hard times, and his art helped him remember how beautiful life can be. I'm grateful he's shared his work with the world. Here are some of my favorites:
Watch 🎥
This was the most interesting thing I came across over the past week. The ambiance, the narrative, and the cinematography are all beautiful.
NFTs 👾
Last week, Meta announced they are actively testing out the ability for users to mint and sell NFTs right on Instagram. If they stay committed in this space, this will be a huge deal in the future. Keep an eye on the rollout and how they plan to integrate this into their user base. I’m not sure the term NFT will stick, but the digital collectibles space continues to grow, Reddit and IG both made massive moves in the past couple weeks, who is next?
From Me 🎒
Another long but eventful week. I'm enjoying going back and forth between different projects. iOS design work is quite different from creating a new brand, yet both are different enough that I feel refreshed switching between the two. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work on both, and I'm excited about how things are progressing.
Whenever I'm feeling stuck, I seek inspiration to alter my mindset. A quote, an image, a song, a movie, or anything else can serve as a catalyst for action. This quote served as my inspiration for the week.
“Being both imaginative and determined is a powerful combination because it's so rare — so many imaginative people are dreamy and ineffective, and so many determined people are merely energetic robots.” — Paul Graham
Enjoy the weekend 🙌
