Moonlights #47
Look 🎨
Luna Luna was first held in Hamburg, Germany, in the summer of 1987. It was a carnival that was a mix of experimental culture, art, and an amusement park. Due to financial reasons, it was short-lived and shut down.
Now, after more than 30 years, it’s coming back. Thanks to Drake and the Dreamcrew Creative team and their $100 million investment into the project 🤯
“When I first heard about Luna Luna, I was blown away,” Drake added in a statement. “It’s such a unique and special way to experience art. This is a big idea and opportunity that centers around what we love most: bringing people together.”
I think over the next few years there will be a resurgence of classic forms of entertainment that have been neglected for a while, it will feel old and new at the same time. Sign me up!
World Cup ⚽️
It's been great to watch World Cup games every day for the past week. There has been some really fun games, but so far, I think this is the best goal of the tournament.
NFTs 🖼️
In the first ever Moonlights, I mentioned Invisible Friends as an upcoming NFT project I had my eyes on. It’s been almost a year now and they’ve had a very successful rollout and continued to make waves in the NFT space. They’ve launched partnerships with Kith, announced a new pfp collection coming next year and recently launched a new project in collaboration with Nguyen Nhut. A lot of projects have promised the moon and many have failed but IF continues to execute while also maintaining their focus on the art. I can’t wait to see the reveal for this new collection.
Watch ⚽️
Keeping with the soccer theme, I started watching Fifa Uncovered on Netflix and I’m only two episodes in and my mind is blown. The trailer was enough to lure me in, check it out below.
From Me 🎒
As I wrap up my 47th newsletter of the year, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who takes the time to read Moonlights and for the many encouraging messages you've written me. This started out as a way to hold myself accountable, share interesting things I come across, and showcase my work, but it's become so much more than that and I’m very appreciative of the support and good vibes ✌️
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you got the chance to relax, reflect and eat all the good foods!
